Mary asked me to share a new gem of the word I recently discovered. We always hear about the "sin of Adam". I always wondered about that because it was Eve who ate of the forbidden tree. We see several thing in regard to this in the Word.

The first is in 1Tim 2:13-14 where we are told "For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. I always thought she had stepped out from under her husband's shelter and protection when this happened. Which is probably true, but there is more to it I now believe.

We learn in Genesis 3: 16 that "he shall rule over thee". So what was the relationship before that? The wonderful gem I found is in Genesis 5:1-2. God's word says "This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Look closely at the verses. They were so much ONE that "THEIR NAME" was Adam. They were one before the fall. Eve did not have a separate name until Genesis 3:20 when "Adam called his wife's name Eve". That, dear sister's, is after the fall of Adam.

So when we decide to go against our husbands and usurp their authority as Eve did the results can be catastrophic. Our position was not one of equality before the fall. It was more like the oneness of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

We lost that oneness and now it is our sinful nature to try to gain equality. Ouch! that hurts, doesn't it. Pray God will give me also a humble and contrite spirit that will glorify God, through bringing honor to my husband. My sinful nature makes that really hard, but I keep trying.

Your Sister in Christ's holy blood shed for my sins.
