Grilled Hamburger Soup
from: Mary Atwood

Two hamburger patties, cooked and leftover (Grilled ones are really good, too), cut up into strips or chunks

1 large can tomatoes

leftover vegetables of any type (green beans, broccoli, peas, cooked pintos, etc)

chopped or canned carrots

chopped onion

I add garlic and salt and a little worchestershire to mine.

Add any starch you like: a couple of potatoes or canned corn, leftover pasta or cooked rice.

Any of the following may be added: chopped celery, canned kidney beans or green beans, chopped cabbage (1/8 to 1/4 head), canned okra and tomatoes

Any fresh herbs are good, along with a bayleaf or two.

One last thing, a can of ROTEL is wonderful in it if your children can stand it.

Add a little water, not too much though.

Cook for just a few minutes and it is done!

This is a very hearty soup and in the south, where we serve it with cornbread, it makes a filling meal. This can also be done in the crockpot if you don't use pasta.
