OATMEAL WAFFLES

1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. sugar
1 t. salt
2 cups buttermilk
2 eggs
2 T. butter or marg. (or applesauce)

In a bowl, combine the first five ingredients. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, and butter, stir into the dry ingredients until smooth. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown.
